I'm Heather Lawson, the founder of Little Goose Lane Photography! I am based out of Northern Kentucky and provide services in the Northern and Central Kentucky areas.
For thirty years, my life was defined by the classroom—a place of connection, growth, and shared stories. While my career as an educator came to a close in 2025, my passion for the people in those stories has only deepened. Photography has been my quiet companion for over 15 years, capturing my own children’s milestones and now the growing families of my friends. I believe photographs are more than just images; they are the anchors of our history and the treasures we hand down to those who come after us. My mission is to capture the genuine, unscripted connections that make your family unique, creating a visual heritage your future generations will hold onto forever. After months of looking for my next chapter, I decided to chase a dream. I upgraded my digital camera and embarked on sharing my craft with my community.

What is the best way to prepare for our photo session?
Focus on presence rather than perfection. I encourage you to wear comfortable, natural fabrics that allow for movement. Neutral colors and earthy tones work well. Before the session, prioritize quality time over stress—it's the raw, honest connection I'm here to capture, and that starts with your family feeling at ease. Complete the online booking to give me some background on family personalities and ages, making it an ease for me to help you all get connected with one another. I will provide more guidance with what to expect and wear after booking your session.
Where do these photography sessions take place?
Many sessions occur in the comfort of your family home for a documentary feel, or at a curated natural location—such as a local park. Some prefer an urban vibe and the session will take place in areas around Northern and Central Kentucky. I believe the background should never distract, but rather enhance the organic energy of your family unit.
What can we expect from a lifestyle photo session?
Expect a pressure-free environment with minimal posing. I won’t ask you to 'smile for the camera.' Instead, I’ll guide you through natural interactions, play, and conversation. My goal is to capture the rhythms of your life as they truly are, in all their beautiful imperfection.
When will we receive our edited gallery?
You will receive your private online gallery within three weeks of our session. These galleries include a minimum of 40-50 (depending on session type) high-resolution color and black and white digital images that have been carefully edited with a warm, natural diffusion to preserve the timeless aesthetic of our time together. All photos will be presented in a gallery for you to view and share.
How do you handle uncooperative weather?
We keep a close eye on the light and forecast. In the case of heavy rain, we’ll move the session to an indoor location or reschedule to the closest available date. My priority is ensuring the light and energy are perfect for your family's story.
